Nigeria and Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi looks set to stay at Emirates Stadium despite talks that he could be shipped out.
The Super Eagles international is reportedly set to sign a new contract with the Gunners that will keep him at the club until 2022.
According to the Daily Mirror, Iwobi is set to sign an improved contract despite previous reports suggesting he could leave.
The Gunners manager Unai Emery sees the Nigerian international as part of his plans at the Emirates Stadium despite interest from Italian Serie A side.
Iwobi signed a five-year deal back in 2015 and is reported to have agreed terms on an improved contract.
However, reports initially suggested that the English Premier League giants were willing to sell the West African for £22.3m.
Il Messaggero in Italy reported that the 22-year-old, who is left with two years on his contract, has attracted interest from Lazio.
The Italian outfit is looking for Felipe Anderson’s replacement, who has joined West Ham United.
Iwobi netted three goals and five assists in 26 English Premier League appearances last season.
