Nigeria’s national U-20 team coach Paul Aigbogun has reportedly resigned from his post as technical advisor of Enyimba International FC.
Complete Sports Nigeria reports that the tactician has ended this third spell at the Aba-based club for personal reasons.
Enyimba are fourth in the 2018 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) standings with 38 points from 24 games.
The People’s Elephant will apparently assign first assistant coach Usman Abd’allah to take charge of the team on an interim basis, while a permanent replacement for Aigbogun is sourced.
Abd’allah’s first task in charge of the team will be a tough CAF Confederation Cup group stage match away to Ivory Coast side Williamsville AC at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan this coming weekend.
Enyimba, who are two-time CAF Champions League winners, are currently top of Group C in the Confederation Cup with six points from three games.
It is not clear whether Aigbogun will remain in charge of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, who this past weekend secured qualification for the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
