Djoliba AC will look to complete a group stage ‘double’ over CARA Brazzaville in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup. The teams will meet at Stade Alphonse Massemba-Debat in Brazzaville on Sunday, July 29, kick-off at 15h00 CAT.

The teams met at Stade Modibo Keita in Bamako on July 18 and the Malian hosts claimed a 2-0 victory, with goals from Mamadou Cisse in injury time at the end of the first half and Mahamadou Coulibaly early in the second stanza.

The result saw Djoliba move to third place on the Group C log with four points, forcing Congolese side CARA to the foot of the table on three points. Leaders Enyimba of Nigeria have six points to their name, while second-placed Williamsville AC of Ivory Coast also have four points.

Djoliba head coach Fanyeri Diarra will be hopeful of a second win for his team, which would revive their hopes of advancing into the final eight of the competition. However, the Malians struggled in their only away game of the group thus far, going down 2-0 at the hands of Enyimba in Calabar in early May.

CARA, by contrast, crushed the Nigerian former continental champions 3-0 in Brazzaville later the same month, giving them confidence that revenge for their defeat in Bamako is within their reach.

Ugandan referee Mashood Ssali will take charge of this match in Brazzaville. The other Group C game between Williamsville and Enyimba will take place on the same day in Abidjan, kick-off at 18h00 CAT.
