Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has reportedly fined his club's players 100,000 EGP for failing to win their opening game of the Egyptian Premier League season.

The White Knights were held to a 0-0 draw by Petrojet at the Suez Stadium on Tuesday, prompting Mansour to take heavy action against his players.

Ironically, though, Mansour was satisfied with his teams performance on the day, but expressed dissatisfaction with the club's failure to find the back of the net.

“The fine isn’t because of the performance, it was good today and we had more than 10 chances to score,” Mansour told “Sports and Youth” Radio Channel following the game.

“The fine was imposed due to the easy chances that were missed,” he added.

Zamalek next face Ittihad Alexandria on Saturday.
