Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has announced that it will be hosting a five-day FIFA Member Association (MA) referees’ course which started today and will climax on August 4, 2018 at Ferwafa headquarters in Remera.
The course sponsored by FIFA, has brought together twenty (20) referees who include 12 men and 7 women referees and five (5) local referees comprising of 4 men and one woman referee- all Fifa recognised international referees, said the FERWAFA wesbite.
The training is part of a series of development programmes for member associations provided for by FIFA. The course will also cover a wide range of areas including, fitness, application, new teaching modules, and amendments to the rules of the game (fouls, misconduct, positioning and movements).
The course is handled by two FIFA referees instructors namely; Rwanda’s Ntagungira Celestin and Cherifi Nasreddine from Algeria.
The FIFA pair instructors is assisted by two technical instructors namely Sekamana Abdulkhaliq and Gasingwa Michel, one physical instructor Mwambali Serge and IT Video expert Kamanzi Prince who will be covering all practice sessions of the participants.
The course started on Tuesday with a fitness test at Amahoro stadium held in the morning and will be followed with a recovery practice session in the afternoon at FERWAFA turf.
The opening ceremony will be held on August 1, 8:30am in the FERWAFA Conference room.
