SuperSport United will chase a first win of the new Absa Premiership season when they host AmaZulu at Lucas Moripe Stadium on 8 August 2018, kick-off at 19h30 CAT.
SuperSport’s season got off to a losing start, as goals from Cape Town City’s Roland Putsche and Craig Martin saw them beaten 2-0 in the Cape on August 4.
Matsatsantsa’s home form last term saw them record six wins, six draws and three defeats for a respectable haul of 24 points as hosts through 2017/18.
AmaZulu opened their campaign with three hard-earned points, as they defeated Baroka FC 1-0 at home on August 4 thanks to Siyethemba Sithebe’s goal.
Usuthu’s away form last term saw them pick up three wins, six draws and six defeats for a haul of 15 points as visitors through 2017/18.
In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and AmaZulu have met in 42 league matches since 1990. Matsatsantsa have claimed 19 wins compared to 14 for Usuthu, while nine matches have been drawn. The Tshwane side has won 12 of their 20 home league matches against the Durban club, suffering four defeats in the process.
Last season AmaZulu claimed a league ‘double’ over United, winning 2-0 at home and 1-0 away, with Ovidy Karuru scoring a goal in each match. Usuthu have won four of their last five league games against Matsatsantsa.

AmaZulu’s line-up from their 1-0 win over Baroka on August 4: Josephs, Sikhakhane, Mabiliso, Ouro-Akoriko (Nyongo 16'), M.Gumede, Ncube, Vilakazi, Lumkwana (Ramphela 66), Sithebe, Cele, Tade (Khenyeza 78').
