Crystal Palace are reportedly looking to offer Ivory Coast star Wilfried Zaha a new-and-improved contract at Selhurst Park.
Zaha was strongly linked with a move away from the Eagles, but a speculated transfer to fellow London club Tottenham Hotspur failed to materialise.
The window has closed for Premier League teams, but the 25-year-old could yet depart for a club in mainland Europe before the end of the month, with Borussia Dortmund rumoured to be interested.
However, Zaha has pledged to stay with Palace and further underlined his value to the team by scoring the second goal in their 2-0 win away to Fulham this past weekend.
Teammate Andros Townsend is hopeful that a strong season under manager Roy Hodgson will convince the Elephants star to remain with the club long into the future.
“He is massively important for us and if I am honest I did not think we would be able to keep him beyond the last window,” said Townsend. “I am just very thankful that we did and hopefully he can have another good season.
“You talk about clubs have good windows and signing six or seven players, but for us keeping Wilf was a good window. He is a top player, for me one of the best players in the league. Hopefully we can keep him for many years to come.”
