Uganda international Denis Onyango is part of Mamelodi Sundowns 23-man squad for their CAF Champions League clash against Wydad Casablanca this coming Friday.

The Brazilians are in Morocco for what will be their penultimate Group C encounter, with Pitso Mosimane's troops out to upset the defending champions.

Onyango, who has firmly established himself as the Brazilians number one between the sticks, missed the club's MTN8 tie against Golden Arrows this past weekend due to injury.

The 33-year-old was rushed to hospital last week following a knock to the head from Polokwane City player Mbulelo Wagaba at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Onyango, though, has made a return to training and was part of the squad that left for Morocco on Monday.

“It’s very nice to be around the team again," Onyango told KickOff.com. "I’m not used to staying home and away from football, but it’s good that I’m with the guys and the feeling is good.

“As long as I’m with the team, it’s not necessarily important that I’m the one playing; anyone can play and we could win – Kennedy Mweene played the last game and we won.

“So, for me, it’s just to be with the team. Seeing them win and getting to the next stage of the Champions League is very important.”

Sundowns have accumulated five points from four matches in Group C, having beaten AS Togo-Port 2-1 in Atteridgeville last time out.
