Brazilian legend Ronaldinho Gaúcho has tipped Mohamed Salah to defend the golden boot accolade he won last season.
Salah ended the 2017-18 campaign as the English Premier League's top scorer having netted 32 goals in 36 games in what was his maiden season at Anfield. In all, the forward scored 44 goals across all competitions as the Reds reached the UEFA Champions League final.
The 26-year-old scored the club's opening goal of the season in a 4-0 win over West Ham United this past weekend and Ronaldinho has tipped the forward to clinch the golden boot award for a second year in succession.
“Mohamed Salah is brilliant and has the opportunity to become the top scorer of the Premier League for a second consecutive season,” Ronaldinho told Pyramids TV.
“He will have a hard time competing for the Golden Boot due to the presence of outstanding players such as Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.”
Furthermore, the former Barcelona midfielder added that he believes Salah has all the qualities to succeed at either the Camp Nou or at their Spanish rivals Real Madrid.
“Salah has the ability to play in any club and any league.
“The Spanish league will be very suitable for a great player like Mohamed Salah, and for him, it will be like a paradise,” Ronaldinho concluded.
