Former Cape Town City, SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates head coach Eric Tinkler is set to return to coaching.

The former Bafana Bafana international has been tipped to replace Dan Malesela at Absa Premiership club Chippa United, this after the Chilli Boys terminated his contract 88 days after returning to the club.

Rumours of Malesela's dismissal started to circulate on Tuesday evening and he has since confirmed that he has parted company with the Port Elizabeth-based club, three games into the 2018-19 season.

"My contract has been terminated. I got the letter last night," Malesela told Soccer Laduma. "I haven't spoken to him (owner Chippa Mpengesi), but I think it's all about patience. It's embarrassing for me. I can't suffer this humiliation."

Chippa are notorious for pulling the trigger and after a slow start to the season, Malesela was tipped to be fired by the club for the umpteenth time.

Th Chilli Boys lost to Bloemfontein Celtic and Orlando Pirates before holding Black Leopards to a 2-2 draw.
