Asante Kotoko's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) George Amoako has stressed the importance of the club's fans.

Amoako was recently appointed as the CEO of the Porcupine Warriors by the Executive Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei.

The new CEO feels that they need more support from the club's fans in order to win major trophies again.

The Porcupine Warriors are the most successful Ghanaian club in the history of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

They have won record 24 GPL titles, but the last time they clinched the trophy was in 2014.

''I promise Asante Kotoko fans that the club will change in my era as Chief Executive Officer, should they support me like they supported Herbert Mensah," Amoako told Oyerepa FM.

"I have never lobbied for the Kotoko job. Am always approached before I make a move of picking up the responsibilities," he added.

The Porcupine Warriors have also won the Ghanaian FA Cup eight times and Super Cup three times.
