Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla has loaned out Karim Hafez to Turkish Super Lig outfit Istanbul Basaksehir.
The defender has joined Basaksehir on a one-year loan from Wadi Degla and the former has an option to make the transfer permanent.
Hafez, who has previously turned out for Belgian club Lierse, Cypriot giants Omonia Nicosia, and French Ligue 2 outfit RC Lens, is a well-travelled player.
Basaksehir made the announcement regarding the player's arrival on their official website.
A club statement read (translated from Turkish): “As a result of the interviews with professional footballer Karim Hafez and his club Wadi Degla, the Egyptian footballer was leased for 1 year with the purchase option.”
“Karim Hafez, who played in Lens from last season's 2nd Division of France, is pleased to welcome my family and we wish him a successful season with orange-lacivert form.”
The full-back has left Wadi Degla without making an official appearance for the team having recently joined the club from Lierse.
Hafez, who was surprisingly left out of Egypt's 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, will be hoping to make his mark at Basaksehir.
