Liverpool midfielder Naby Keïta, 23, has admitted that playing in the English Premier League is tough, but is confident that through hard work he will make a success of his time at the club.
The Guinea international has made an immediate impact at Anfield since his move from RB Leipzig at the end of last season, and has featured in all four of the club's league games thus far. The Reds currently top the standings with a perfect record.
Keïta was under no illusion from the onset that playing in the Premier League would be different from his spells in France, Austria in Germany and is motivated to continue going from strength to strength.
“I think it’s fair to say that the Premier League is a tough league,” said Keita in the new edition of the official Liverpool FC magazine, as per the club's website.
“I’m very motivated to be playing in it – it’s an attractive proposition – but I’ve been told by many people that a lot of overseas players come into the Premier League and they take time to integrate, depending on the circumstances.
“So playing in the Premier League can be difficult, but I am very motivated to play here, not just for myself and my teammates, but for the club.
“Everybody around me has been very supportive towards me so I am certainly giving everything I can to get settled into the team quickly," he concluded.
Liverpool are next in action against fellow title hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
