English Premier League club Everton have confirmed that they will welcome Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia to Goodison Park on Tuesday November 6, in the SportPesa Trophy game.

The historic fixture will mark the first occasion that an East African club side has contested a match in the United Kingdom.

As announced on Everton's website, all proceeds from the match will be donated to the Everton in the Community to enable the Club's official charity to continue its ground-breaking work across Merseyside and around the world.

Gor Mahia booked their ticket to Merseyside following the Kenyan giants 2-0 win over Simba SC of Tanzania in the 2018 SportPesa Super Cup final at the Afraha Stadium back in June.

The Toffees beat Gor Mahia 2-1 following the inaugural SportPesa Super Cup hosted in Dar Es Salaam last year. Wayne Rooney and Kieran Dowell scored Everton's goals, while Jacques Tuyisenge found the back of the net for the Kenyan club.
