Enyimba will lock horns with Rayon Sports in a 2018 CAF Confederations Cup first-leg quarterfinal clash at the Stade Régional Nyamirambo in Kigali on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.
The Rwanda club booked their place in the knockout stages as Group D runners-up behind USM Alger, following a narrow 1-0 win over Young Africans last time out.
Rayon claimed a surprise 2-1 win away to Kenyan giants Gor Mahia before edging their Tanzanian opponents.
Gikundiro registered a win, defeat and draw in their three home games in the group stages. Having already made history by progressing in the knockout stages for the first time, the Rwandan club will be eager to continue breaking barriers.
Enyimba advanced into the quarters after finishing top of a very competitive Group C ahead of CARA Brazzaville, Williamsville AC and Djoliba.
The Peoples Elephants won their most recent away game in the CAFCC following two successive defeats on their travels.
A last minute penalty away to Djoliba sparked their rival with the Nigerians having also defeated CARA with a stoppage-time goal in their most recent continental clash to top their group.
"This competition is in the quarter-final stage and any team in this stage must have gone a long way to get here," said Enyimba head coach Usman Abdallah ahead of the match. "So none of the teams got to the quarter-finals by chance. It means all of the eight teams worked to get this stage.
“For me, I am treating our opponents the same way like we have done against other opponents, and with respect. So my mentality going into this fixture is that every team in the quarter-finals are of same pedigree irrespective of past or present records. This is no time to underrate any opponent.
"We will prepare well for this fixture and pay attention to every little detail too.
“The most important thing now is to win and ensure we get to the semi-finals, and from there we will wait for the next opponents. But now the focus is the quarter-finals against our opponents," he concluded.
Algerian referee Mustapha Ghorbal will take charge of the clash in Kigali.
The reverse fixture will take place at Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on the 23rd of September.
