Al Ahly head coach Patrice Carteron feels that they will need a big support when they host Guinean side Horoya AC next weekend.
The Egyptian giants were held to a 0-0 draw by Horoya in the 2018 CAF Champions League quarter-final first-leg game in Guinea on Friday.
The second-leg encounter will be played in Egypt next weekend with Al Ahly looking to book their place in the final.
“We didn’t take advantage of all the opportunities we had. A draw is an acceptable result but I was hoping for a better result,” Carteron said on King Fut.
“The game could’ve been different if we took advantage of our opportunities. I don’t recall any opportunities for Horoya.
"The pitch was really bad and we’ll start preparing for the second leg from now. “We’ll try to take advantage of the opportunities we get,” he added.
Al Ahly are hoping to win the Champions League title for the ninth time this year having clinched it a record eight times.
“We need you in the second leg to qualify for the next round. “CAF Champions League games are decided depending on the support of the fans and not technical aspects,” he concluded.
The second-leg match will be played at the El-Salam stadium on Saturday, September 22.
