Jean-Marc Makusu scored a brace to lead AS Vita to a 3-1 win over RS Berkane in a first-leg 2018 CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinal clash at the Stade Des Martyrs in Kinshasa on Sunday evening.
The Oranges opened the scoring with a header from captain Mohamed Aziz in the 23rd minute of the game. The defender rose highest to power a free-kick from the left flank into the back of the net.
Makusu duly leveled matters on the stroke of half-time to breath life into the Democratic Republic of Congo giants heading into the break.
The Black Dolphins hit the front in the 56th minute as Makusu completed his brace - the goal his ninth of the CAFCC campaign.
Scorer then turned provider as Makusu teed up Djuma Shabani for the hosts third 12 minutes from time, as AS Vita sealed a comfortable win.
The reverse fixture will take place at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane next Sunday, the 23rd of September.
