Former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler has refused to criticize Mohamed Salah following the club's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend.

The Reds made life difficult for themselves in a game they should've won by a larger margin, but despite poor decision making in the final third, Jurgen Klopp's troops did just about enough to edge a resilient Spurs outfit.

Salah, who scored 44 goals in 52 games for the Merseyside club last season, was particularly wasteful in front of goal, but Fowler has refused to criticize the Egyptian international.

Fowler told The Mirror: “I’m not going to start condemning the forwards after such a good win. Yes, Salah was probably the worst culprit, and he not only missed a few chances, but also made a couple of dodgy decisions in possession.

“But he’s a goalscorer. He is used to scoring now and he wants to find the net. I know what that’s like, and I can’t criticise him for that. You can’t be moaning at him when the Liverpool forward line took Spurs apart so easily.”
