Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has apoligised to the club's fans following their surprise 1-0 defeat away to Thika United in the Kenyan Premier league this past weekend.

All is not well at K'Ogalo despite the fact that the club have already clinched the top-flight title with the loss their fourth in six games across all competitions, their third in succession.

The defeat away to the bottom placed team in the division, though, shouldn't come as a surprise as the Gor Mahia players refused to train in build-up to the clash, this due to reported unpaid salaries.

“We planned all week to practice at Parklands to work on different formations, but to get the game plan right and I was not allowed to do that and it hurts me not only as a professional but also as football fan that hates to lose,” Kerr told Goal.com in an exclusive interview.

“We tried, but we looked sluggish no energy, no spirit and did not listen to tactics especially as I put Joachim (Oluoch) as a striker and an attacking formation to play in their half. I cannot use our players not training or the field as an excuse because once you put the jersey on your responsible to give everything.

“Today (Sunday), we did not play to my standards and I apologize to the many fans that came for the match and congratulate Thika United, who scrapped ran and wanted to win knowing how my players have not trained and they took advantage," he concluded.
