Phakamani Mahlambi made an instant impact on his return to the Absa Premiership with a goal on debut for Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend.

The 21-year-old prodded home at the second time of asking as the Brazilians came from behind on a couple of occasions to rescue a point in an enthralling 3-3 draw away to AmaZulu.

Mahlambi returned to South Africa following an unsuccessful stint at Egyptian giants Al Ahly who he joined from Bidvest Wits last year.

The forward, though, has taken off from where he left in South Africa's top division and Mosimane believes that the Bafana Bafana international has all the qualities to eclipse former Brazilians' stars Khama Billiat and Percy Tau.

"He was supposed to score and that's why we have him here," Mosimane said of Mahlambi as per KickOff.com.

"He did well, first game, first goal, good.

"I think he should have scored the other one in the first half again. He allowed the defender to come from behind and take the ball from him.

"Good player, young, very, very raw. Very, very raw. He needs a lot of work and he reminds me of Percy Tau when he came. Even Khama Billiat, a lot of work.

"Spending a year or two with me, I think we are going to get a better product for South Africa," Mosimane concluded.
