Enyimba forward Wasiu Alalade says the Nigerian side will finish the job in the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Rayon Sports of Rwanda this weekend.
The People’s Elephant played out a 0-0 draw in Kigali in the first leg of the teams’ quarterfinal last weekend. They will host the return match in Aba on Sunday.
Alalade believes the stalemate in the first meeting has set a solid platform for his side to advance into the final four of the continental competition.
“We were solid and did not leave any gaps between defence and attack, so that benefited us,” Alalade told Nigeria’s Football Live.
“We had a brilliant game and deserved to score in the first leg. Rayon Sports gave us a great fight.
“It’s a result we must now build on to show our fans that we are on the right track. We will get the job done in Aba,” concluded the forward.
The winner between Rayon Sports and Enyimba will face either CARA Brazzaville or Raja Casablanca in the semifinals next month.
