Bidvest Wits will look to continue their strong form in the Absa Premiership when they host Polokwane City at Bidvest Stadium on 21 September 2018, kick-off at 20h00.
Wits recorded their first draw of the league season when they were held 0-0 at bottom-of-the-log Maritzburg United on September 15.
The Clever Boys have claimed six points from a possible nine at home so far this campaign, claiming 3-0 wins over Free State Stars and AmaZulu, as well as a 1-0 loss at the hands of SuperSport United.
Polokwane come into the game having claimed their second league win of the season. The Limpopo side defeated Free State Stars 1-0 at home on September 15, thanks to a strike from Bongile Booi.
Rise and Shine have recoded one defeat (0-1 at Limpopo rivals Black Leopards) and one draw (1-1 at Golden Arrows) in their two away matches this season.
In head-to-head stats, Polokwane and Wits have met in 10 league matches since 2013/14. The Clever Boys have claimed four wins compared to one for Rise and Shine, while five matches have been drawn. The Johannesburg side has recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat from five games as hosts in the rivalry.
Last season the teams cancelled each other out, drawing 1-1 both in Polokwane and Johannesburg. Four of the clubs’ last seven league meetings have ended in draws, a sequence in which Wits are unbeaten.
