SuperSport United will look to return to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host Black Leopards at Lucas Moripe Stadium on 23 September 2018, kick-off at 15h00.
SuperSport were on a run of three successive victories, but on September 15 they were handed a 3-1 defeat by Orlando Pirates in Soweto. It was the Tshwane side’s second loss of the league season.
Matsatsantsa have claimed two wins from as many home matches in this campaign, overcoming both AmaZulu and Chippa United in August.
Leopards suffered a second straight defeat – and saw their winless run move to four matches – when they were beaten 1-0 at home by high-flying Bloemfontein Celtic on September 16.
Lidoda Duvha have recorded two draws from as many away matches this season, holding both Highlands Park and Chippa United 2-2.
In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Leopards have met in 14 league matches since 2001/02. Matsatsantsa have claimed seven wins compared to three for Lidoda Duvha, while four games have been drawn. The Tshwane side has claimed four wins from their seven home matches in the rivalry, suffering one defeat in the process.
The teams last met in the 2012/13 season and played out two exciting games: a 3-3 draw in the Limpopo province and a 3-2 home win for SuperSport in the return game in Tshwane. The clubs’ last five league games have produced 19 goals.
SuperSport’s line-up from their 3-1 loss to Pirates on September 15: Williams, Kekana, Khumalo, Daniels, Modiba, Phala (Lakay 29’), Furman, Letsholonyane, Mokoena (Keene 68’), Rusike, Grobler (Lungu 86’).
Leopards’ line-up from their 2-1 loss to Celtic on September 16: Ndlovu, Munyai, Zulu, Munganga (Ndou 31'), Sibanda, Nange, Mokoena, Nene, Musonda (Ndlovu 63'), Tshepe (Mhlongo 55'), Khutlang.
