Egypt international Mohamed Salah scooped the FIFA Puskás Award 2018 in London on Monday evening, for his wonder goal against Everton in the English Premier League last season.

The outcome, though, came as a surprise with Salah's strike arguable not even his best of the 2017-18 campaign while many felt Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale should've won the accolade for his goal in the UEFA Champions League final.

But considering the award was decided by virtue of a fan vote, it should come as no surprise that the outcome was a contentious one.
