Demba Ba has revealed that he has given up hope of representing Senegal at national level in the future.
The 33-year-old last represented the Teranga Lions in March 2015 and has admitted that he is unlikely to play for the West African nation while Aliou Cisse is head coach.
The Shanghai Shenhua forward scored seven goals in 13 matches at Turkish Super League club Göztepe earlier this year before his return to China, but was overlooked for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
"I've turned the page and I don't have a space for the national team in my head," Ba told Senegalese publication Record.
"I saw the course of events leading up to being snubbed and ignored by coach Aliou Cisse. He simply cast me aside without talking to me.
"So I just concluded that it's okay and right now the national team is no longer in my thoughts."
The former Chelsea and Newcastle United forward has scored four goals in 22 games for Senegal.
