Highlands Park will look to end Kaizer Chiefs’ hot-streak in the Absa Premiership when the teams meet at Makhulong Stadium on 2 October 2018, kick-off at 19h30.

Highlands suffered their first defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 at Free State Stars on September 22. The Makhulong-based side has also won just once this term.

That lone victory arrived in their previous home game, as a brace from Mothobi Mvala secured a 2-1 victory against Golden Arrows in mid-September. They were also held 2-2 by Black Leopards in their only other game as hosts thus far.

Chiefs picked up their third straight win in the league when they defeated AmaZulu 2-0 at home on September 22. Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siyabonga Ngezana scored the goals as the Soweto side recorded their first three-pointer as hosts this season.

The Amakhosi are unbeaten away from home this term, with two wins and three draws from their five matches on the road. Their last away result was a 2-0 win at Free State Stars on September 19.

In head-to-head stats, Highlands and Chiefs have met in two top-flight league matches in the PSL era. Both encounters took place in the 2016/17 season, with the Amakhosi winning 1-0 both away and home. George Lebese and Lorenzo Gordinho scored the goals for the Soweto giants.

Highlands’ line-up from their 1-0 loss to Stars on September 22: Kapini, Motsepe, Sibande, L.Mokoena, Msimango, Mvala, Mbatha, Ramoraka, M.Mokoena (Sekola 46’), Nyembe (Motlafi 64’), Hoaseb (Shalulile 69’).

Chiefs’ line-up from their 2-0 win over AmaZulu on September 22: Khune, Mphahlele, Ngezana, Cardoso, Walusimbi, Katsande, Ntshangase (Andrianarimanana 85'), Manyama, Billiat (Paez 90'+2), Zuma (Ekstein 80'), Parker.
