Ghanaian coach J.E Sarpong says Kevin-Prince Boateng should not be recalled into the Black Stars squad.

This is despite the attacking midfielder's good form for Italian Serie A club US Sassuolo in the current 2018/19 campaign.

Boateng was dismissed from the Ghana camp together with Sulley Muntari during the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil on disciplinary grounds.

The two midfielders were then banned indefinitely by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The Black Stars of Ghana have struggled in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

As a result, some Ghanaians have urged the Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah to consider recalling Boateng.

“Every coach need quality players in their teams but it shouldn't be at the expense of his principles," Sarpong told Joy Sports.

“If you are a player and you are not disciplined, it makes the coach's work extremely difficult because the young players may emulate the bad behaviors from those who feel like superstars and destroy the chemistry of the team," he concluded.

The 31-year-old midfielder-cum-striker played 15 times for Ghana - scoring twice in the process.
