Cameroon’s Karl Toko Ekambi’s goal for Villarreal was not enough as the Spanish side drew 3-3 with Spartak Moscow in an UEFA Europa League match on Thursday night.
Ekambi opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but Ze Luis equalised for Spartak in the 34th minute.
Villarreal took the lead again four minutes into the second half, but again Spartak levelled matters with a second goal from Ze Luis in the 82nd minute.
The Russian side then took the lead in the 85th minute courtesy of a strike from Lorenzo Melgarejo before a 96th minute goal from Santi Cazorla saw the two sides share the spoils.
Nigeria were also represented on the night with Samuel Chukwueze playing 70 minutes of the match for Villarreal.
