Guinea-Bissau will be looking to bounce back when they host Zambia in a Group K, 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying match at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro on Sunday.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 18h00 (CAT).
Zambia will come into this match high on confidence after beating Guinea-Bissau 2-1 this past Wednesday in a Group K match thanks to goals from Stoppila Sunzu and Justin Shonga.
The loss for Guinea-Bissau was their first in Group K and also sees them on four points following a 1-0 win over Namibia in their first qualifying game, a 2-2 draw with Mozambique in their second match and then the loss against Zambia.
To be honest, Guinea-Bissau’s form on the international stage has been relatively poor over the last year. Their last win was the Group K victory over Namibia in June last year, but following that they have lost five of their last six matches.
Zambia, on the other hand, have only lost one match in their last six international outings, with four wins and one draw.
The win against Guinea-Bissau was Zambia’s first in their 2019 Afcon qualifying campaign and sees them on four point from three matches thus far after an opening Group K defeat to Mozambique (1-0), followed by a 1-1 draw with Zambia and then the victory last week.
The meeting on Sunday will be the fourth official encounter between the two sides with each having won a match and the other ending in a draw.
