East African rivals Kenya will welcome Ethiopia to the Moi International Sports Centre on Sunday in a Group F 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Kick-off is at 15h00 CAT (SA, GMT+2).
The Harambee Stars currently lead the way in their group with four points from three matches. Ethiopia have conjured the same total, but boast an inferior goal difference with Ghana and Sierra Leone inactive during the current international break.
Sierra Leone could well be booted out of qualifying after their FA were this month suspended for government interference. Caf duly called off back-to-back qualifiers against the Black Stars and it has yet to be communicated what will happen in terms on point distribution.
Kenya and Ethiopia will duly aim to capitalise on Ghana's inactivity with victory in Nairobi. The reverse fixture between the two sides at the Bahir Dar National Stadium earlier this week ended in a goalless stalemate.
Kenya head coach Sebastien Migne expects a tough clash in the Kenyan capital:
“It was a good result for Kenya [in Ethiopia], not the one that we wanted but a draw is a fair one," said Migne.
"We must now turn our focus to win the return leg. I know it will be like a final because both teams will be fighting to win.”
The East African neighbours have locked horns on 30 previous occasions. Kenya boast 11 wins compared to nine for the Walia Ibex with 10 matches ending all square.
