The win took the Stallions to second place on the group standings, while the Zebras remained fourth on the table.

It was veteran attacker Jonathan Pitroipa, who hit the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Burkina Faso much to the delight of the home crowd.

The Boswana attack which was led by Tumisang Orebonye tried to level matters before the half-time break.

However, Burkina Faso held on to their lead and they were 1-0 up at the interval.

The hosts doubled their lead six minutes after the restart and it was Bano Diawara, who put his name on the score sheet.

The Morocco-based striker beat Botswana goalkeeper Kabelo Dambe to make it 2-0 to Burkina Faso.
