Brilliant Khuzwayo could finally make his long-awaited Orlando Pirates debut this month, having confirmed his return from injury.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Buccaneers ahead of the 2018-19 season after leaving Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs, has yet to feature for his new employers after suffering an injury setback ahead of the new season.
Khuzwayo had to undergo surgery to remove screws in his ankle back in August, and while it was initially reported that he would only spend a month on the sidelines, the shot-stopper only recently returned to training.
"I will say that he [Khuzwayo] is working very hard. As to how far, we should not rush (him)," Pirates head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic recently said.
"With the injury that he sustained, I believe he has worked very hard (to be where he is now). He is on the good road to recovery. The goalkeeper coach, medical team and the technical team will make the decision as to when can we utilise him the best possible way."
Pirates are in Telkom Knockout action against Chippa United this weekend before taking on the Amakhosi in the Soweto Derby next Saturday.
