Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita will miss the club's English Premier League clash against Huddersfield Town, head coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The 23-year-old sustained a hamstring injury while on national duty with Guinea this week and is duly set to sit out of Saturday's match away to the Terriers.

Keita had to be carried off as Guinea edged ever closer to booking their spot at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but it has come at cost with the Reds star now set for a spell on the sidelines.

Klopp, though, might be able to call on Mohamed Salah who trained as normal on Thursday despite suffering an injury scare while playing for Egypt in Cairo last weekend.

Furthermore, Sadio Mane might also feature despite having to undergo surgery on his hand following an injury sustained while on national duty with Senegal. He will be assessed before the game.

Asked if he had a fitness update, Klopp said a the pre-match press conference: “Not really. We had a session yesterday and a few of the boys trained, so we’ll have to see how they’ve reacted after that.

“The only thing that is pretty sure is that Naby will not be available; with all the rest we have to see how it develops. That’s it, pretty much.”
