Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has confirmed that goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo is available for selection ahead of their Telkom Knockout last clash this evening.
The Buccaneers will host Chippa United at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, kick-off at 20h15 CAT, and former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Khuzwayo could be in line to make his debut.
The shot-stopper joined Pirates from their arch rivals in the offseason but has yet to feature for the club, as he was sidelined while recovering from surgery on his ankle.
“We really feel, as a technical team, privileged to have such a quality human being like Brilliant Khuzwayo, he’s with us,” said Sredojevic during a press conference on Thursday.
“Because he is a generator of positive energy in the team, and all of us have been beside him when he went for that operation [on his ankle].
“He has worked very hard to come back. He’s on the brink of being counted, practically being declared ready for competition, and it is purely down to competition of the four of our goalkeepers, on who will be first choice in the next match.
“We shall see, when we’re having our last polishing touches and decide [who starts in goal]. But we are happy to have him back and that he has put himself in line for competition with the rest of his colleagues.”
