Cape Town City and AmaZulu will both be desperate for three Absa Premiership points when they meet at Cape Town Stadium on 27 October 2018, kick-off at 20h15.
City’s winless run in the league is up to seven matches after they were held 0-0 at Maritzburg United on October 5. The Cape side has not claimed a three-pointer since the first weekend of the season.
The Citizens have picked up four points from as many matches as hosts, with their last result at home a 2-0 loss at the hands of Bidvest Wits early this month.
AmaZulu have gone five league matches without a win after they were held 1-1 at home by Orlando Pirates on October 6. The Durban side’s last victory was over Free State Stars in mid-September.
Usuthu have lost all three of their away matches this season, going down at the hands of SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs.
In head-to-head stats, City and AmaZulu have met in just two top-flight league matches. Both encounters took place last season, with the Cape side winning 1-0 at home in the first half of the campaign, while Usuthu responded with a win by the same margin on the final day of 2017/18.
City’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with Maritzburg on October 5: Leeuwenburgh, Mkhize (Martin 78'), Mngonyama, Fielies, Edmilson, Putsche, Nodada, Patosi (Ralani 65'), Links, Norodien, Mthembu (Akosah-Bempah 80').
AmaZulu’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with Pirates on October 6: Mbatha, Sikhakhane, Van Heerden, M.Gumede, Ouro-Akoriko, Darpoh, Vilakazi, Karuru (Sithebe 71'), Ncobeni (Cele 78'), Tade, Ntuli (Khenyeza 90').
