Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has come out in defence of Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha following the Gunners 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
The Eagles netted two penalties through Luka Milivojevic to halt Arsenal's run of 11 straight wins in all competitions. Xhaka found the back of the net for the North London club before Pierre Emerick Aubameyang prodded Unai Emery's men in front.
Palace, though, were awarded a penalty late on following a foul by Xhaka on Zaha in the area. Milivojevic duly converted from the spot to earn Palace a hard-fought point.
Ivory Coast International, Zaha, was lambasted on social media following the incidentlate into the second-half, with many calling on the FA to take action against the wing-wizard.
But, to the surprise of most Arsenal fans, Xhaka came out in defence of Zaha who was labelled a diver by enraged supporters.
"It's difficult. I think it's a clear penalty," Xhaka told Sky Sports. "I touched him in the knee.
"The referee gave a penalty. That's football."
