Ivory Coast and Udinese midfielder Seko Fofana has revealed that Elephants legend Yaya Toure is his hero, and added that he would love to return to Manchester City in the future.
The 23-year-old French-born player has become a key figure for Udinese in Serie A since his 2016 move, and has caught the eye of bigger clubs with his performances for the ‘Zebrette’.
"I love to play in midfield,”Fofana said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It doesn't matter if in a two- or three-man midfield, that's for the coach to decide. We are doing well, we struggled only against Napoli.
“This is a pivotal season for me, I have ambitions and goals, I want to have a great career.
“I am playing like I was in my first season here before fracturing my fibula in March 2017 against Juve. That was the toughest moment in football for me.
“We are more unite compared to last year, We are more friends with each other both on and off the pitch.”
As for his future ambitions, Fofana has admitted an admiration for French giants Paris Saint-Germain, but also Man City – he was on the English team’s books from 2013 to 2016 but was first a part of the youth system and then sent on loan to Fulham and Bastia.
“I'd like to play in European cups,” the Ivorian international continued. “I love Paris and I support PSG, but if I had to choose a club where I'd like to go one day it would be Manchester City.
“I was there and it's still in my head. I met Yaya Toure, my role model. He was a hero for me, now we are friends.”
