Victor Wanyama is set to make a return from injury for Tottenham Hotspur this coming weekend, after suffering yet another setback.
The 27-year-old missed the start of the season with a knee injury before returning to action in mid-September, but just as he was finding his groove the hard-tackling midfielder suffered yet another injury that has kept him out of Spurs last three English Premier League fixtures.
Wanyama will play no part in Tottenham's UEFA Champions League clash at home to PSV this evening, but head coach Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that the Kenya international could feature for his club away to Crystal Palace this weekend.
"It was a different knee he injured," said Pochettino when asked about Wanyama's latest injury. "He’s close to being back and hopefully will be available for selection on Saturday."
The former Celtic midfielder found the back of the net for the Harambee Stars in a 3-0 win over Ethiopia last month and Kenya head coach Sebastien Migne will be delighted with news that Wanyama is close to full fitness one more.
Kenya host Sierra Leone in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier next weekend. The East Africans currently top Group F with seven points from four games.
