Cameroonian Clinton N'Jie saw his Marseille side suffer a 2-1 loss against Lazio in a UEFA Europa League match at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night.
Marco Parolo opened the scoring for Lazio just before half time with a clinical header before Joaquin Correa doubled their lead ten minutes into the second half.
Florian Thauvin pulled a goal back for Marseille on the hour mark, but it was not enough for N'jie's side who will now exit the competition.
The loss leaves MArseille unable to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition as they now occupy third place in Group H with one point from four games, a staggering eight points behind second placed Lazio with only two games left in the group.
