Malian Lassana Coulibaly saw his Rangers side surrender the lead on three different occasions to lose 4-3 to Spartak Moscow in a UEFA Europa League match at the Otkrytiye Arena on Thursday.
Rangers opened the scoring in the fifth minute after an goal by Roman Eremenko, but Lorenzo Melgarejo managed to equalise in the 22nd minute for the home side.
Daniel Candeias put Rangers in the lead again in the 27th minute, but Spartak pulled level once more in the 35th minute after an own goal from Connor Goldson.
Glenn Middleton put Rangers in the lead for the third time in the 41st minute, but again they squander it as the home side drew level for the third time in the 58th minute courtesy of a goal from Luiz Adriano.
A minute later Sofiane Hanni scored for Spartak togive them the victory.
The loss for Coulibaly's side leaves placed third in Group G on five points, the same as Spartak but behind them on goal difference while Villarreal lead the standings with six points.
