AmaZulu remain at the foot of the Absa Premiership log standings following a goalless draw against Polokwane City at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi on Sunday afternoon.

Usuthu sit four points behind their closest rivals, while the point for Rise and Shine keeps them in seventh spot.

Chances were few and far between for large parts of the clash in the KwaZulu-Natal province despite a positive start from the hosts, with Emiliano Tade forcing Harold Ndlovu into a good save from a tight angle in the second minute.

AmaZulu were unlucky not to hit the front in the 68th minute through Bongi Ntuli. The burly forward rose highest to meet Marc van Heerden's corner-kick, but could only succeed in guiding his attempt onto the woodwork and out of danger.

Rise and Shine finally conjured a notable chance in the 84th minute through second-half substitute Mbulelo Wagaba, but Siyabonga Mbatha was well positioned to deny the visitors.

Usuthu then had a late chance to grab all three points, but with only the goalkeeper to beat ,Ovidy Karuru failed to find the back of the net as both teams ultimately settled for a point apiece.
