Cape Town City beat Black Leopards 3-1 at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday afternoon to move up to eighth place on the Absa Premiership log standings.
Defeat for Lidoda Duvha leaves the Limpopo side in 14th place on the table, a mere point above the relegation zone.
The Citizens opened the scoring in the Mother City with 10 minutes on the clock through Ayanda Patosi who bagged his third goal of the campaign.
Good work down the left flank by Surprise Ralani teed up the attacker who duly powered home from close range.
Patosi should've completed his brace in the 21st minute, but the attacker horribly miscued his effort with the goal at his mercy.
He was duly left the rue the missed chance moments later as Leopards pulled level through Mwape Musonda. The hard-running forward broke the offside trap before rounding Peter Leeuwenburgh and passing the ball into an open net.
Allan Kateregga restored City's lead before the break following a flowing move which ended with a relatively straightforward finish for the Uganda international who fired the ball through King Ndlovu's legs and into the back of the net.
Leopards were the better side for large portions of the second half, but Siphelele Mthembu would make sure of all three points for City - nodding home from a corner-kick for his second goal in as many matches.
