According to reports, Egypt's proposed friendly against United Arab Emirates, scheduled to take place on the 20th of November as celebration for UAE's national day, has been cancelled.

The Pharaohs were scheduled to take on the UAE following their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at home to North African rivals Tunisia this coming weekend.

KingFut.com report that both the UAE and Egypt announced their squads for the clash, but the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) subsequently requested to postpone the fixture to March, due to Al Ahly's match in Dubai on the 22nd of November against Al Wasl in the Arab Club Championship.

Egypt's foreign-based players are also set to return to their respective club sides on the 21st of November, making it difficult to play the match on the previously scheduled date.

Furthermore, Al Ahly duo Amr El-Sulya and Mohamed Hany have withdrawn from the Egyptian national team after picking up respective injuries in the club's 3-0 defeat to Esperance de Tunis in the Caf Champions League final this past weekend.

Egypt play host to Tunisia at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Friday. Both teams have already booked their place at next year's showpiece in Cameroon.
