Luc Eyamel has revealed that he has received a job offer from an unnamed Egyptian club following his departure from Free State Stars on Monday.

The Belgian mutually agreed to part ways with Ea Lla Koto this week following a slow start to the 2018-19 Absa Premiership season. The Free State club currently occupy ninth place on the log standings after successive defeats to Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United.

Eymael guided Stars' to Nedbank Cup glory last season - against all odds - with the club having come close to selling their top-flight statutes to Moroka Swallows in 2016.

“Yes, we decided to part ways, you know the results were not what we expected. But I want to thank the committee of Free State Stars for the support and especially my players for what they did last season, it was a fantastic season,” he told KickOff.com.

Eymael, who has previously coached in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Algeria, Kenya, Tunisia and Sudan is open to remaining in South Africa, but revealed he has received a job offer from Egypt.

“I will stay minimum until the end of the month and longer perhaps because if I get another team I will stay longer. I have contacts here, I have contacts abroad. I got contacted already from Egypt but let’s see," he added.

“My first preference is to coach in South Africa. But we’ll see because Egypt is also a very good league,” Eymael concluded.
