Uganda will be looking to remain unbeaten in their 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign when they host Cape Verde in a Group L match at Mandela stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 15h00 (CAT).

Uganda currently top the standings with ten points from four matches after beating Cape Verde (1-0 last year in June), drawing 0-0 with Tanzania in September and then two victories in Lesotho (3-0 on October 13 and most recently 2-0 on October 10).

Tanzania are second in Group L with five points while Cape Verde are third with four points while Lesotho are last with two points.

So Cape Verde still have a chance of qualifying for the Afcon in Cameroon next year, but they need to pick up three points on Saturday.

Cape Verde’s results in their Afcon qualifying campaign have seen them lose 1-0 to Uganda in June last year, draw 1-1 with Lesotho in September of this year, beat Tanzania 3-0 at home on October 12, but most recently suffered a 2-0 loss to Tanzania on October 16.

This will be the third meeting between Uganda and Cape Verde. Uganda have two wins to Cape Verde’s one.
