Namibia and Guinea-Bissau played to a goalless draw in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday.
The result leaves both Namibia and Guinea-Bissau with eight points apiece at the top of Group K followed by Zambia and Mozambique with four points each.
Mozambique and Zambia are in action on Sunday and will look to close the game on the two front runners in the group.
The match itself was not a very entertaining one with chances on goal few and far between.
The home side did control the possession stakes in the opening half and camped in the Guinea-Bissau half, but Namibia’s play in the final third was extremely poor.
The second half saw Guinea-Bissau come into the game a bit more, but still their general play was poor and they could not muster any decent scoring chances.
In the end both sides seemed content to settle for the share of the spoils in what can only be described as a boring goalless draw.
Namibia will be in action again in Afcon qualifying next year in March against Zambia away from home while Guinea-Bissau will host Mozambique.
