Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau is confident that South Africa will qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

South Africa squandered a glorious chance to book their spot at next year's showpiece this past weekend, and now need to get at least a draw away to Libya next March to join Nigeria in Cameroon.

“I think we will go to Afcon! We just have to keep the momentum going next year," Tau told SuperSport TV following South Africa's 1-1 draw against Paraguay in Durban.

“I think it was a difficult game. We conceded early, but we came back strong. We tried to get our tactics right, and the movement. We got the last goal in the last minute, which is good.

“We didn’t know much about them. They were very physical, and moving the ball fast, which is a good preparation for Libya.

“But we gave everything, and we got a draw.

“It’s good that we have the youngsters also in the team. So, they will always help us with energy, and it’s also a good experience for them.”

Tau who scored a last minute equaliser against Paraguay, has netted seven goals in 17 matches for his country.
