Cape Town City will chase a hat-trick of Absa Premiership wins when they face Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on 27 November 2018, kick-off at 19h30.

Polokwane come into the game having drawn 0-0 away to AmaZulu on November 11. The Limpopo side lost their first two matches of the season, but have been beaten just once in their nine subsequent league outings.

Rise and Shine have claimed 10 points from six home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a 2-1 loss at the hands of Orlando Pirates in early November.

City picked up a second straight win when they defeated Black Leopards 3-1 at home on November 11. The Cape side has scored six goals in their last two league outings, having netted just eight in as many games prior to the back-to-back victories.

The Citizens have yet to win away from home this season (three draws, one defeat) and their last result on the road was a goalless draw at Maritzburg United in early October.

In head-to-head stats, Polokwane and Cape Town have met in four league matches since 2016/17. The Citizens have claimed two wins compared to one for Rise and Shine, while one game has been drawn. The Limpopo side boasts an unbeaten home record in the rivalry, with one wins and one draw from two matches as hosts.

Last season Cape Town took four points off their counterparts from Polokwane, winning 1-0 (with a goal from Lehlohonolo Majoro) in the ‘Mother City’ before playing out a 1-1 draw in the return game in the Limpopo province.

Polokwane’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with AmaZulu on November 11: Ndlovu, Manaka, Mbonani, Nkili, Hlongwane, Seabi, Phiri, Ramagalela, J. Maluleke (W. Maluleke 90’), Mngomezulu (Wagaba 69’), Anas (Tlolane 58’).

City’s line-up from their 3-1 win over Leopards on November 11: Leeuwenburgh, Mkhize, Fielies, Dove, Seedat, Patosi (Modise 61’), Putsche, Nodada (Norodien 74’), Kateregga, Mthembu, Ralani (Links 62’).
