Maritzburg United will continue the chase for a first home win in the Absa Premiership this season when they host Chippa United at Harry Gwala Stadium on 27 November 2018, kick-off at 19h30.

Maritzburg extended their winless run in the league to four matches when they were held 2-2 at home by Highlands Park on November 9. The KwaZulu-Natal side twice threw away a lead to be denied all three points.

The Team of Choice have yet to win at home this season, recording four draws and one defeat from their five matches as hosts. They have scored just two goals in the sequence.

Chippa saw their winless run extended to three matches when they were held 0-0 at Kaizer Chiefs on November 10. The Eastern Cape side has taken just one point from the last nine up for grabs.

The Chilli Boys have yet to win away from home this season, recording two draws and three defeats from five matches on the road. They have scored just two goals in the process.

In head-to-head stats, Maritzburg and Chippa have met in 10 league matches since 2012/13. The Team of Choice has claimed four wins compared to one for the Chilli Boys, while five matches have been drawn. The KwaZulu-Natal side has won two of their five home league matches in the rivalry, suffering one defeat in the process.

Last season the teams cancelled each other out, drawing 0-0 in the Eastern Cape and 1-1 in the return game in KwaZulu-Natal. Four of the last five league matches between these clubs have finished in draws.
