Ramadan Sobhi's agent, Nader Shawky, has revealed that the Egypt international will not be leaving English Premier League side Huddersfield Town in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks, with former employers Al Ahly tipped as possible suitors.

Sobhi, who joined the Terriers from Stoke City ahead of the 2018-19 season, has struggled for game time due to both injury and a lack of form. In total, the attacker has only featured a mere 33 minutes across all competitions this season.

But, despite his troubles, Shawky revealed that Huddersfield head coach David Wagner wants Sobhi to stay at the club and fight for his place.

“Till this moment, Ramadan Sobhi is staying with his team,” Shawky said as quoted by KingFut.com. “Al Ahly did not officially request the services of Sobhi till now.

“He is close to staying with his team in England and he’s looking forward to taking part in more games. What I understand is that Huddersfield coach wants him to stay and doesn’t want to let him go in the middle of the season, that’s what they talked about in a meeting that happened recently.”

Huddersfield are next in action against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
